A convenience-store clerk suffered minor injuries Monday, when he struggled with a robber armed with a knife.
Police responded to Konvenience Korner, 1720 Constitution Road, at 10:40 p.m., according to a report by Pueblo police officer Ronald Oreskovich.
The 38-year-old clerk told police the masked suspect entered the store and said, “This is a stickup. Give me your money.”
The clerk ignored the robber, who had walked behind the counter and pounded on the cash register. The suspect demanded the clerk's wallet. Again, the clerk ignored him, then called 911.
The suspect produced a knife with a 6-inch blade. He struggled with the clerk briefly, and fled before police arrived.
The clerk suffered a minor cut to his shoulder blade. He refused medical attention at the scene, and drove himself to a hospital for treatment.
The suspect wore a black and red ski mask over his face. He was dressed in jeans and a gray, hooded sweatshirt. The clerk said the suspect's face was barely visible, but he appeared to be black. The suspect was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds.
Police have identified a possible suspect, but were unable to locate him for questioning on Monday
