A hollow threat to bomb City Hall on Tuesday landed a man in jail.
Robert Allen Wright, 39, was booked on suspicion of false reporting of explosives.
Wright reportedly entered the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, 302 N. Santa Fe Ave., at 9:10 a.m. and asked where he could find the City Council. An employee of the chamber told Wright he was in the wrong place, according to a report by Pueblo police officer Michael Mares.
The chamber representative then showed Wright on a tabletop map how he could get to City Hall.
“Good,” Wright reportedly responded. “I'm going to blow it up.”
He walked out of the building carrying a backpack.
Pueblo police officer Patrick Fleming contacted Wright before he reached City Hall. A search of his backpack found no explosives.
While he was being booked at the jail, Wright reportedly kept repeating the words, “Nobody cares.” He told police he had been depressed.
