A Pueblo man returned home early Monday after three weeks on vacation to find that his residence in the 2000 block of North Elizabeth Street had been burglarized.
Kurt Heitmann told police he recognized a problem as he approached his house and noticed the front door partially open, according to a report by Pueblo police officer Ronald Oreskovich.
The door appeared to have been forced open. A 55-inch television, a carousel DVD player, 15 DVDs and a bottle of single-malt whiskey were missing.
Friends of Heitmann had been checking on the house while he was away. Nothing had been disturbed when they last checked on the house two days before he got home.
The stolen property was worth more than $4,000.
